Historic York lies 45 minutes inland with it's Jorvik Viking heritage centre and magnificent Minster - and if shopping’s your thing, the charming market towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering, home of the North York Moors Steam Railway, are only a 20 minute drive.
The impressive stately homes of Castle Howard, Burton Agnes Hall, Duncombe Park and Sledmere are all close by.
Where Country Meets Coast!
The magnificent coastline is punctuated by small coves and sandy beaches - the nearby coastal town of historic Whitby and the beach resort of Filey each have their own character, whilst time appears to stand still in the charming fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay, which simply must be visited.
